I think this is pretty much completely unprecedented. A book so new it has no cover is #1 on Amazon’s best seller list. And, yeah, it’s my brother’s book. No big deal.
Oh my god this is so cool. I love nerdfighteria.
Never have I felt so favourably towards Amazon. Jesus, next I’ll be buying a kindle and shunning indie booksellers (not that you can’t preorder The Fault in Our Stars in an indie bookshop or get it there once it’s out. It’s just… the #1 is so pretty). FIVE DAYS. You go, Glen Coco.
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENTS!
1. The publication date for The Fault in Our Stars is moving WAY UP! TFiOS will come out on January 10th, 2012.
2. I am still signing every copy of the first printing to ensure that every single preordered copy of the book is autographed by me, which I have recently learned means that I’ll be signing my name 150,000 times.
3. I will be live on YouTube momentarily answering your questions and signing your books. Come say hi.
None of this would have happened without your support. I cannot thank you guys enough. I can’t wait to share this book with you, and I’m so psyched I get to share it five months sooner. You can preorder yours here.
Do you know how soon the 10th of January is? EXTREMELY SOON.
One of my favorite contemporary artists, Gordon Matta-Clark, called his work Anarchitecture. I thought about the famous work Splitting (1974), a photograph of which you see above, a lot while writing The Fault in Our Stars. Matta-Clark took a home slated for demolition and split it down the middle. A house divided…and standing.
(for some reason now I’m imagining the characters from Enid Blyton’s The Folk of the Faraway Tree in bras. Disturbing. The Saucepan Man and Mr. Watzisname + drag = nightmares)
