Those of you reading this from outside the UK will have missed out on the Jubilee weekend here, the start of an extended period of flag-waving that will carry on all summer with Euro 2012, Wimbledon and the Olympics.
Along with all the patriotism, celebrations and 2 extra days off comes unspeakable amounts of tie-ins, especially in advertising and packaging. Generally the jubilee ones have been much better than their olympic equivalent. A lot of products that are very British have pulled it off quite well, I tend to prefer the ones with a retro feel or clever wordplay (like the marmite and weetabix). Of course the worst will always be those that have no idea and rely of pointless union-jackerry, or that have no discernible link to the jubilee (Tabasco?!).
